It’s back: Uni’s All-Classes Picnic and Car Show coming May 15!

[Posted April 5, 2016] Back by popular demand: the Uni All-Classes Picnic and Car Show, back on campus after a three-year absence on May 15. In addition to the vintage autos, there will be campus tours, a short State of the School address from Principal Eric Davidson and a special luncheon to commemorate the naming of the new athletics facilities as “Kampmann Stadium” and “Patton Track.” The event is free except for the luncheon, for which there is a separate charge. Barbara Nwaba ‘07: American Pentathlon Champion!

[Posted March 28, 2016] Congratulations to a former Uni star athlete who won another U.S. national championship in track & field: Barbara Nwaba ‘07. After becoming the U.S. Heptathlon champ in 2015 (see her throwing the javelin above) and competing for the United States in the World Track & Field Championships last summer in Beijing, China, she won the U.S. indoor Pentathlon title in Crete, Nebraska on February 26-27 with 4,415 points. In memory of Uni alum Frank Sinatra Jr.

[Posted March 23, 2016] Sad news of the loss of another Warrior: Frank Sinatra, Jr. (1944-2016) on March 16. He was 72. A member of Uni’s Winter ’61 class, the Associated Press obituary noted: Sinatra Jr. followed his father into music as a teenager, eventually working for the senior Sinatra as his musical director and conductor. … Sinatra Jr. was able to provide a link to his father’s music after his death, performing his songs and arrangements on tours and especially in Las Vegas. “Since my father’s death, a lot […]

Uni teachers enhancing classroom with direct-action grants

Uni qualifies two to State Speech & Debate Championships

[Posted March 1, 2016] In just its first year as a re-formed, on-campus club, Uni’s Speech & Debate Club qualified two individuals and one alternate to the California High School Speech Association all-state tournament in Santa Clara.
