Erin Garcia, Class of ’88 and Student of Arnie Rubinoff, is a Curator for the California Historical Society

Erin Garcia, Class of ’88, is the managing curator of exhibitions for the California Historical Society, located in San Francisco. During the time that Erin was a student at Uni, she took photography with Arnie Rubinoff all three years. This passion for photography sparked here at Uni continued as she majored in Art History at Berkeley and earned a Master’s degree in Art History from The University in New Mexico with an emphasis on photography. [Posted July 2, 2018] The mission of the Uni Hi Education Foundation is to raise funds for the continued support of Uni’s academic, athletic and performing arts programs. Created in 1985 to counter the effects on Uni of budget cuts across the L.A. Unified School District, more than $1 million has been raised to assist faculty and students. Anyone can contribute: 103-year-old Hal Cunningham, who attended the school when it was known as Warren G. Harding High, joined the ranks of donors in 2014 and helped out again in 2015! […]

Major gift from Lance & Stephen robbins to create new Warriors & Wildcats Strength & Conditioning Center

Summer vacation: We have 566 books donated to the Uni library!

[Posted June 27, 2018] School is out and Uni’s book donation program is taking a short break for the summer! Easily one of the best success stories for the Uni Hi Education Foundation over the past couple of years has been the library donation program which began in December of 2016. No one expected that a stunning 566 new books have been sent in by generous alumni and friends. And a new list of books will be posted once school comes back into session in August. Legendary appeals judge Stephen Reinhardt ‘48 passes at 87

[Posted April 5, 2018] One of the nation’s most noteworthy judges, Stephen Reinhardt, Class of 1948, died on March 29 of a heart attack. He was 87. Ninth Circuit Chief Judge Sidney R. Thomas said, “We have lost a wonderful colleague and friend. ‘68 City Cross Country Champ Steve Baum Passes at 66

[Posted February 15, 2018] One of the outstanding athletes in Uni history, Steve Baum, lost his unhappy battle with cancer on February 5, at the age of 66. What made Baum so important was his impact on others. From being a would-be basketball star who figured out quickly that he should choose another sport, Baum made himself into a champion, under the tutelage of Uni coach Dick Kampmann, and a paradigm that Coach K would use for decades to motivate others.
