New Uni Football Field Nearly Complete with the New Track to Be Poured in May

New Football Field and Track Moving Forward to Spring Completion

[Posted March 6, 2015] Excellent progress is being made on the installation of the new AstroTurf football field and eight-lane, all-weather track at Uni. This L.A. Unified School District (LAUSD) project, being built by Ohno Construction, is expected to be completed in late May. Stunning turnout for “Into The Woods” Auditions at Uni

[Posted February 25, 2015] Thanks to the wide success of the motion picture version of “Into The Woods,” Uni Director of Theatre Arts Ronnie Sperling ‘76 expected good interest for parts in his Spring 2015 version when auditions opened in mid-January. But 70 applicants for only half as many parts? “Huge turnout!!!,” noted Sperling. “Three days of auditions.” The lengthy casting process involved not just reading for parts, but singing and movement trials to fit into the show. Created in 1985 to counter the effects on Uni of budget cuts across the L.A. Unified School District, nearly $600,000 has been raised to assist faculty and students.
