David Nwaba ‘11 making the most of his chances in Chicago
[Posted February 1, 2018] Nice story in the Los Angeles Times on David Nwaba ‘11, now playing with the Chicago Bulls of the NBA and doing well.
Said Nwaba, “I’m enjoying every second and they’re believing in what I bring to the team and what I can bring defensively. That’s where it all started. The Lakers gave me an opportunity because of what I brought on the defensive end, so it’s good that they can see what I bring on that end and I just look to give my best effort and do the best I can to get stops.
“I felt like I had to get away. Just been in Cali all my life. I think it was just a good opportunity to grow as an individual and just experience something else, something different. I think the transition worked out in my favor.”
Nwaba is averaging 7.4 points and 4.6 rebounds a game in 22.7 minutes per. Said Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg, “We love David and hope he’s here for a long time.”
